Bottoms Up (and how to keep it there): Aerial Inversion Workshop - 1:00-2:15 pm

Handbalancing: lines and shapes - 2:30-4:00 pm
This all levels workshop starts with finding you handstand line (you know that thing coaches talk about that will make it all easier?). Once we can find that we will discover fun and interesting shapes and learn how to move in and out of them.

Prerequisite : hold a 1 minute plank . Kick up to handstand on the wall

Contortion: Bend it, don’t break it. - 4:00-5:30 pm
Contortion is a challenging yet rewarding discipline; it requires many hours of strengthening and stretching. This 90 minute workshop will go over everything you need to get started on your contortion journey.

Prerequisite: Anyone, regardless of flexibility, can take this workshop.

Contortion Workshop with Taylor Aquino

Bend it don’t break it. Contortion is a challenging yet rewarding discipline; it requires strengthening and stretching. This 90 minute workshop will go over everything you need to get started on your contortion and flexibility journey. Prerequisite: Anyone regardless of flexibility can take this workshop.

Advanced Silks with Emily LeMieux

Advanced Silks:

PREREQ: Students are expected to be training at least 2-3x per week to maintain the strength and stamina necessary for this workshop. Bring extra layers to protect your body, such as a long sleeve shirt, extra leggings, and socks with the toes cut out.

  • Mastery of all Beginner and Intermediate Silks prereqs

  • Mastery of at least 2 climbs, in addition to basic (French) & Russian (with at least one inverted climb)

  • Mastery of at least two ways into X back

  • Multiple inversions in air

  • Solid hip key in the air

  • Dancer wrap foot locks

  • S wrap

  • Ability to remain in the air for at least 4 minutes

  • Ability to hang by hands (straight or bent arm) for 20 seconds

  • Demonstrated ability/willingness to listen to and follow instructor directions

Meet Your Instructor!
Emily is a multidisciplinary artist, Head Aerial Instructor at Agora Arts, and Co-Founder of The Greatest of Ease Circus troupe, best known for crafting memorable characters and for her whimsical and ethereal performance style. Emily has been defying gravity for almost a decade, weaving skill and strength and style between ceiling ribbons, having completed rigorous Teacher Training with Paper Doll Militia and trained with seasoned circus performers, throughout the United States and abroad. Her rich history in dance (ballet, jazz, etc.) and competitive cheer inspire her instruction, which focuses on form, injury prevention, character development and authentic expression.
